Newsweek Does-Not get it !!

Imagine a list of the 20 most powerfull people in the world - "Newsweek" magazine gets it totaly wrong. How on earth does 2 foreigner's happen to be the most pwerful people in India - unless someone at Newsweek is thinking of the colonial era or atleast with a colonial era mentality for sure. That too, when both of them are officialy not seeking power or position ??

Sonia, an Italian who was married into the non-Gandhi, Nehru line of the independance leaders of India, is heading the congress political party - almost on its way out like the republican party and Bush in US. She married a person with a Gandhi name, Rajeev, who was nehru's grandson and Indira's son. Yes, he was a smart and good guy, having helped unleash some of the IT aspects of India onto the world scene 2 decades ago.

That is no reason for Newsweek to dump her and project her to the planet as India's queen. That is queer to say the least. Sonia is on as shaky a ground as any - and even as India and Indians out of their hospitality and welcoming nature accept and honor all of the world as family - the facts are anything from rosy, when an analysis of the nepotism and poor performance in office is asseyed.

Not to mention corruption in the close clans of the politicaly rich and powerful part with no primaries and party boss as boss - dictator style, that Sonia is riding the wave on and wand on. Yes, it is a mystry how she has succeeded in spite of her limited intellect or knowledge - for these are evidently lacking as per any public speaches she has given or any books she has written or press conferences she has given or any major debates either in parliament or outside that she has egaged herself in.

Yet, she is good at throwing mud at the opposition and Newsweek thinks that is good, to make a person be listed in such a list. Newsweek forgets that it along with others n the media helped bring to power a George Bush in the US on such simillar flimsy grounds of false popularity, causing the havoc that he and his cronies brough to the world. The world is seeing the meltdown being celebrated and frowned upon the world over. Iraq and Afganisthan continues to burn and Guantaminobay and torture in Iraqi prisons have ruined the crediblity of America to a degree never seen in a century.

Sonia is a political party dictator, who is making all the "right" moves for the wrong reasons and have succeded inspite of it all. I am an indian and proud to be one. If Sonia had the vision or the conern for the teeming mass of humanity in India - and the poor public health issues in India - and did something to correct it - I would certainly applaud her. Sadly, she has done very little for the country. Yes, her party, which lacks leadsrship and has the strange twist of hero worshiping anyone who can tell lies and make the other look bad - George Bush style - is in a sorry state of affairs.

Add to that Newsweek makes the Dalai Lama as the world's top 20 most powerful as well. If anything this is done to make the Chinese hate India and to make the two ASIAN giants more distant from each other. The western media - Newsweek included does not want India and China to get any closer, politicaly or economicaly and hence has the Dalai Lama projected to this world power figure, to make it more difficult for India and China to get closer.

Why does India allow this kind of trampling of the laws of the land and her own people being treated as second class citizens by people of foreign origin ? Yes, India is a land that welcomes one and all, and it is a good thing. However, guests to India, and that includes foreign born daughter in laws, or for that matter refugees too - must abide by decorums of ethics and civility.

This Sonia - she was in Kerala the other day - and all she did was foul-mouth the state and the people of Kerala and the government there - only becuse that party which rules in Kerala - had opposed her and almost toppled her democraticaly in Parliament - untill she got the money bags and wads of money to "buy" votes in parliament to keep her dicatorial power as leader of the party in a coalation ruled democracy that is bought and sold so openly. Nuclear deal with US - an issue that needs to be researched by what is the newsweek angle and interest in that election and deal worth over 100 Bilion $ of busines ? Sure India needs power and power can be generated even from human waste which is in plenty in India and on the railway tracks that Sonia is obliged to help clean up - if she claims to be a leader yet fails to do. pray tell why - is it because she supports ans is supported by pharmaceutical companies who make a killing profit from people getting sick ?

Tell me I am wrong - I will be glad to be proven wrong. Newsweek is right, she is powerful, and Newsweek is wrong as to how she weilds the power and who and what helps her. Why is newsweek not doing a real story on her and the corruption in Indian politics including bofors, Italian connections, emergency under Indira with Sonia in the kitchen cabinet... Yes, uncomfortable truths.

One thing is for sure. Sonia is not Queen in India. I support her being a queen - in Italy. Yes, Italy needs a queen and Newsweek can annoint her as queen there. Newsweek has my vote on that score.

SATYAM - MAYTAS India's "family" politics as business or vice versa !!

India does the rocket like launch and then does the rocket like splash down.

What a comedown it has been for the corporate group from India - Satyam - an IT wonderfirm. Listed in American stockmarket as well as having 1.5 Billion ( Yes Billion US $ ) in cash to invest - they wanted to die ( versify ) into real estate - found the "right" strategy - getting a corporate Board to rubberstamp the deal - money - action to buy a "Son's" two companies - using the listed company funds. Yes, why not, in India it happens all the time... as in politics... right ?

No, not anymore, if I read the tealeaves right. My crystal ball tells me the times are a changing.

Ofcource, the market responded in kind with little kindness to the kind of "nepotism" seldom seen so openly in modern corporate world.

The stocks plunged and satyam was in shambles - the truth was out and the CEO - Raju made a u-turn, opting to "stop the buy". He says he will now buyback stock at the now very reduced prices. Yes, why not, use the money and increase ownership of the company from a mere 8% they have, so they have some authority to use corproate funds, as if the family owns it all. Like in Indian politics... from where he gets the cue or is he clueless... even as he has scucceded so well in the global world of business and corproate saviness.

If Wall street thinks meltdown is their own turff- wait and watch it, the Indian-style version of the family-empire-meltdons, as the chips and votes come cashing in !! Yes. You heard it here first.

Indian politics is ready for the same - as it is riding a wave of family "ownership" and authoritaitarain no questions asked- democracy in name - no democracy sham called political party with no accountablity. Party politics as in Illinois, seen recently, where the Governor was selling the senate seat of Obama to the highest bidder.

What is the moral of the story for India ?

In my opinion more than the corporate world of India - the story is a telling one for our political neta's and the parties that are run like family feifdoms. Yes. There is a dictatorship in India today - in few political parties. There is no transparency nor any democracy. The party boss determines and utters who will be the candiadte, chief minister, or whatever. Utter nonsense you may say.

It is a rule by edict and there is no corporate board and share holder accountablity allowed . No private indipendant corporate board memebrs anywhere on the party heirachy. The citizens can vote - once or so every five years - and that is all that "shareholders" - we the people are allowed any say in the matter.

Same picture as India's coprorate world - and the shockwaves are going to have to make reality brought o light on the matter.

Yes, we have an election coming and I urge all shareholders to vote down the dictatorship in the democracy of India.

Political parties first and foremost must REFORM or QUIT or even better be banned. The parties MUST conduct transparent primaries to choose candidates for the elections. ANyone - who is a member of the party and anyone who wants to join the party must have that freedom - and the candidates must have a free democratic process in the parlimentary democracy where the person can become the candidate of the party. No one needs to lick the boots and shes of party boss's to get a "seat" to contest. This is corruption at its worst and it must be rooted out.

Sadly, the corruption in politics in India - is worse than the corruption in corporate India - where voting and election and money changing hands are all concealed and camouflaged.

We need an end to corruption n politics and every political party is guilt - though some more than others. The family members being promoted by political boss's to becme leaders and stakeholders by transfer of power and money is bad. Bad for India.

Let us throw out the families who call democracy their fiefdom and their dynasty and their family affair. That is no democracy.

Satyam is a stroy that was only waiting to happen. The true sathyam on political nepotism is ready for exposure.

The new law passed to invoke violations of civil rights - will unfortunately be used like during emergency to keep the political opponents quiet. The dangers we in India face are high - like the crap from the railways, the crap from the corporate houses and the crap from th political parties.

We need Gandhiji or one like him to lead us. Peace, non-violence, cleanliness the 3 things he taught us to do. This we must. Now more than ever.

India needs NEW Leadership

Yes, sad to see the tragedy of India.... Mumbai. India's politicians are doing NOTHING. It is time to resign Mr Anthony, Mr Singh, Ms Sonia.

Here are a list of things that need serious attention :

1. Why has the Indian defence Minister Mr A. K. Anthony not taken responsiblity for his failure to protect India's border's and keep its citizens from harm ?

2. Why are no media addressing the origins of the guns - where did they come from - to Pakisthan ? Who manufactured them ? Why are no cases filed against the manufacturers of those guns that werre used - once we do that, we will know who were really the behind the scene players.

3. What is the point of having Ms Rice and FBI - who are all in transition mode, with Mr Obama coming to power - come to India and manage and orchestrate the investigation. ? Does India's politicians not know, that US has been supporting Pakisthan and calls it an ally. Remeber Nixon sending the 7 th fllet to the area to support Pakisthan ?

4. What if anything was the CIA role - as Indian News media are reporting that 2 of the foreigners killed at Taj - a lady and a guy - were cia operatives and were counter terrorism agents - in India attempting to upset the happening ??? SO, was this a battle between agents and counter terrorism agents within the cia - doing their thing to prove or disporve or teach someone else a lesson ?? India merely being at the recieiving end of it - or just the scene of the action ?

5. Why are the Foreign Ministers of Russia and China as well being NOT consulted on - to find out who is behind these attacks ?

6. Why is Mr Brown from Britian rushing down here - and what was the British role in partition of India - the divide and rule mentality that has caused all these problems, needs to be further visited and understood to get a genuine perspective on the issues. They are at it again - it looks like colonialism is making a comeback - these attempts at destabilization are all geared to sell more British and American weapons - and Mr Anthony and Sonia and Mr Manmohan Singh are walking right into it. Britian must acknowledge the terrroism acts such as on April 19 th 1919 in Punjab ... and so many others during colonial days in so many countries... terrorism and colonailism are connected.. UK must take responsiblity for it. UK must be like Germany and Japan asked to give up their army and not allowed to send troops to any foreign lands.

7. India must remain out of the war. The troops - the foreign troops in Afganisthan and Pakisthan and Iraq and elsewhwerre in Asia - must go. Go home, and defend your own countries. The war is being spread by the foreign troops presence in Asia. This is being used to sell weapons and destabilize countries causing more weapons sales for Haliburtons and Blackwater and such terrorist agenicies - including the militants who are waging war in protest.

8. It is time for a NEW India - China alliance. That is what the Americans, British and French DO NOT want to see. The Manmoghan Singh goverment is going to use the "failure" of its administration as an excuse to bring democracy to a standstill - curbing freedom - like during the emergency . The poeple of India must rise and protect the freedom, and peace that hero's such as Gandhiji and Nehru has got us. India must not let foreign domination and divisiveness to destroy India. Pakisthan and India must reunite and the world will be better off. Yes, Pakisthan President does not want to fight for Americans against Afganithan. The attack on India is an attaempt by CIA or other agencies to amake India and Pakisthan go to war and to cause sales of weapons and to make Pakisthan do the bidding of Uncle sam. Mr President of Pakisthan - speak up and expose the real purpeaturs of this crime - which ever country trained the isi - make it be known publicaly. Yes.

9. Why are foreigners such as Dalai Lama having so much freedom in India. ? Yes, he maybe a good man, yet he must go back to Tibet or find a place that wants to have him. India must not have to sacrifice its good relationship with China, on account of their internal problems. Dalai Lama must solve the problem peacefully. What is he doing about bringing peace in India, Iraq, Afganisthan or elsewhere.... meanwhile.... nothing, it seems to me. Dalai Lama and Sonia are foreigners and have more freedom and rights in India, than Indians themsleves. This is a shame. It is not democracy. Why has Dalai Lama - when he meets foreign heads of State not asked them to end occupation of Iraq and Afganisthan ? He wants to ask for Tibet and their rights... and India has done as much as it should do. India's neighbor China and India must move forward, and not let Dalai Lama become a stumpling block to our better relationships - of a 2. 4 Billion people, a market better and bigger than any on the planet.

10. The Kerala scene is so bad. Sonia is flying down there and Anthony and all the MP's and ministers organizing political jatha's when the country is burning. They are talking of next elections and want to use the problems to their advantage. Shame. It is time for a nationalist governement. The political parties in India are the problem... just as everywhere else. Corruption... look at Illinoiss Gov selling the seat vacated by Obama to anyone.. who wpould give money for it...... and likewise railways dumping human fecal matter on tracks daily... what is Sonia and Manmohan doing about that .. NOTHING.

India needs NEW leadership. Sonia, Anthony and Manmohan have failed India. Yes, sadly.
India is a democracy - and we must keep it such, and we the people have the right to say it as it is. No emergency or war again. Peace is the answer. Not weapons build up. Not foreigners and foreign spies running India. India must remain Indian.

The politicians all have "Z" security and protection.
People have "Z...ERO" protection and security !!

From bacteria, pollutioin, diseases as well as attacks from foreign agents and agencies. Why are the politicians in India allowed to be in office after their utter failure. Mr Anthony resign. Yes, please. Stop talking of political parties and their corrupt ways.... We the people of India have had enough of your pretenses and ways. It is time for a new era.
