KTDC and Kerala TOURISM officials MUST resign !!
Keral marketd as God's own country has a nighmare in its tourism managment and administration. The Thekkady boat tragedy is a sad and graphic example.
Mr Cherian Philip Chairman KTDC ( Kerala State Govt owned Tourism corporation ) must resign.
So shoul Dr Venu, IAS Director tourism Kerala - taking responsiblity for the failure.
I have numerous documents from a decade and a half ago with me, which we shall post on this and other sites soon - showing how the then Chief Minister Mr A. K. Anthony was given a report and a health and danger warning indicating the situation on the boats and Periyar lake in 1995. Unfortunately neither A. K. Anthony nor his subordinates such as Venu or Cherian Philip cared about any safety guidelines.
I have attended various event wherin any mention of safety or public health standards and tourism were always swept under the carpet by Venu, Kerala's tourism director. The earlier he takes responsiblity and resign , the better.
People such as Najeeb and Jose Dominic from the tourism industry must come forward and ask for theri resignation. The industry, certainly the bigwigs of the industry are afraid of criticising the authorities even when they are the problem, as in this situatiuon.
The managing director of the corporation KTDC also must resign.
Minister of tourism Ms Salja must visit the scene and Kerala as well and set matters right. Just firing the driver and attendant on the boat is merely the tip of the iceburg.
YES, VENU and Cherian Philip MUST resign.

Former Indian Railway Minister under CBI investigation
As per news in Economic Times of Sept 18, 2009 - Ms Mamata Bannergee the current minister has asked for and got an approval for a CBI investigation into what is called a "land for jobs scam"
Maybe they wll also look at where the money went - that was to convert all toilets on train to green toilets - based on our case filed in Kerala high court.
India has a major problem with fecal contamination from trains - Please speak up folks. Take action or we will all be sick or dead..sooner than later !!

SRK has no problem with doing ad's for colgate - shame Mr Khan
Mr Khan, SRK as he is known, goes to America, faces insult at airport, makes a big story of itt and gets back to India. Now he is taking money... yes, that thing called money... to do ads for colgate. Does he realize that colgate is an American company and that as an MNC it only cares about its own bottomline. In NewWark, he will not find colgate supporting him, should he need their help.
Mr Khan, why dont you be on ads for the Indian railways and its fecal dumping issue ? Maybe even do it free. That is the kind of social responsiblity guys such as you should show, given you have all the money you want. use your fame for a good cause. Dump the colgate deal. In any case, if you are going to be on the ads for colgate, I am saying bye bye to ever buying colgate again. Serious, yes.
Watch for more railways news here on the fecal dumping aspects...

Letter to Minister of State for Indian Railways Mr E Ahamed
Changanassery
August 12, 2009
To: Hon Union Minister of State for Railways, Government of India
Mr. E. Ahamed
From: Dr George Joseph Themplangad, MBBS, MBA
On behalf of citizens of India – given in person at railway station Changanasserry
Subject: Diseases caused by fecal dumping of Indian railways
Respected Minister Ahmed,
Bathrooms of Indian railways are dumping human fecal matter all across India, causing many deaths and much disability. Rs 4,000 cr was allocated in Budget of Indian Railways 2008. Yet daily, the problem continues, in Kerala and India.
1. In one year’s time from today, August 12, 2010, the problem must be fully addressed and solved. 4 years is too long to wait, when people are dying on account of this, and various fevers and diseases are spreading all over India, on account of this.
2. Please allocate Rs 25 cr from this Rs 4,000 cr, to Kottayam district, and Rs 100 crore to Kerala, so we can manufacture modified toilets to retrofit and solve the problem. The 10 acre land at Changanassery railway station can be used to set up such a facility.
3. We can create electricity from this human waste – biomass – technology is available. Railways can solve this problem by encouraging a citizen’s participatory approach.
4. Minister for railways, Mamata Banerjee started and led the protest in Calcutta, about the nano car and Tata. Much more polluting and dangerous is the action of the “company / organization / Monopoly” that is the Indian railway, which she heads today. Can you please arrange a meeting for me to discuss the matter with her, and the Railway Board.
5. Develop technology to solve this problem by having students in Universities participate in a “solve railway fecal problem contest”. RailwaysHit.com will assist.
6. Build a central sewage system incorporating the railway stations in various states, making the first such venture in Kerala..
7. Build 10 new clean and free to use, public toilets in all railway stations of India. A total of 1,00,000 such bathrooms are urgently needed.
I am willing, able and ready to offer assistance in these matters, for the common good.
Thanking you,
Sincerely
Dr. George Joseph Themplangad
